Drive Shafts

Best Answer Spider , 02 May 2017 - 08:08 PM

Both those shaft ends look fine and I don't see anything missing off either of them.

The one in the upper photo is showing the inner end (the end that goes towards the gearbox) and the one in the lower photo is showing the outboard end.

Hi all
I have two drive shafts for my beast.
Ok two different lengths which is correct.
Both have the following one end has 1 circlip
The other end has two circlips.
Which end does the outer cv go on 1 circlip or two. ?
Im sure its the end with 1 circlip?
Regards

The one with two grooves in it fits the cv. The inner groove needs a flat washer in it; part number 17H8597. The outer groove needs a circlip in it.

Thanks northenpower
Both ends of both shafts already have all the circlips and square section circlips.
The 17h8597 is now obsolete according to minispares.
Mini sport dont even list that part.
Glad i dont need new ones.
But if i do i have another set of shafts that have yet to be taken apart completely.
