Hi everyone i really hope you can help me.

I am replacing the brackets back on my floor and i have ordered the following part numbers:

14A9552/53 floor to sill reinforcement slinger bracket

24A41 Front Slinging bracket x2

24A43 LH Rear Bracket

24A42 RH rear Bracket

Would anyone be able to assist me and provide pictures how and where they exactly fit. I know the front slinging brackets go right down the front end near the flitch but i am unsure on where the others go. Unfortunately they were to rotten in the first place to identify where they should have been.

With the rear bracket they have some form of bent over tab at the back does this allow them to hook over the rear subframe mount panel, I'm taking a complete guess ?

Thank You In Advance

You're in luck! I have my old floor visible, new floor pan out and all these brackets to go on. Standby, will go take some pics.

Hopefully this helps. I've pictured where the are originally on the car (note that it is upside down currently) and where they then fit on the new panel.

Hi Steve thank you for that i really appreciate it its been very helpful.

You don't happen to have any pictures of the underside of the car do you bracket wise i have a couple of mystery brackets left. I know these fit on the underside of the floor but I'm not sure exactly where

You're very welcome! Not sure on the slinger brackets, I'm not refitting the external ones to mine as they're rust traps.

Thanks again Steve. Your comment adds to my thoughts on keeping them off. Still on the topic off brackets I'm presuming you have the internal bonnet release catch fitted to the underside of your dashboard I'm considering welding mine to the underside of the dash instead of it being bolted would you be able to take a picture of your catch bracket ?

The internal slinging brackets add some significand stiffness in the sill area and are best fitted. Considering that the area should be fully painted, possibly with something like Zinga, before closing up the sills, and then flooded with Waxoyl or better, they do not need to be a corrosion trap.

The underfloor brackets should never be fitted (unless originality is your main concern) as they add nothing except a minor amount of weight, can trap mud etc and contribute to corrosion, and, very much worse, will definitely be confused with jacking points by tyre fitters etc, with disastrous results. Beating out a badly dented floor is not much fun.
