With the recent turn back to a proper British summer, cold and rainy, I discovered two vital flaws in my new mini:

1. Having purchased a hot beverage from a hot beverage takeaway vender, I had absolutely no where to put it in the mini. Anyone got any photos or ideas of what they have done? I have also installed a new radio with usb etc so would be good to be able to mount a phone as well for sat nav purposes

2. Being wet I was reminded of all the time in my old mini where she would stop in the rain and I would have to proceed to get out get soaked whilst grabbing the permanent featured can of wd40 and pulling the distributor off and giving it a good coat to get her up and running again. Does anyone know where I can get a distributor/engine shield or have any advice as to what materials to get to build my own?

Thanks

For the phone holder i cut off the mechanism from a normal "stick to the windscreen" one, drilled into the plastic ashtray and bolted the holder mechanism to it, then glued the rotating plastic bit of the ashtray so it doesnt spin around.

I hope ive explained that right. Will try and get a photo up in a bit. Cost a grand total of a fiver and works great.

Does anyone know where I can get on of those basket style holders that sit on the transmission tunnel?

Is it? Shame, I like that classic style. As nice as all these stainless steel items are, they are too modern for me.

There nothing stopping one of the basket types in your car. After all it's your car
