Hi all,

As ever, I'm finding more things to replace, especially on second hand parts I've bought. I have an adjustable duplex timing set, however, the smaller sprocket as I've found today has a tooth smashed and looks like its scrap. Oddly, the rest of it is fine! The chain will be replaced but I want to replace the small gear. Now I can't find many of these online as replacement, the only one I've seen is this:

It's 20 tooth, looks similar, however it's from a pre A+, would it fit my MPi?

Assuming it is a 1275 of course.

 

The Somerford web site, and another one which I forget, have a properly illustrated parts catalogue with all the relevant bits on one page. Much easier to use.

 

For best life you should consider changing both gears and the chain together. But lots of Minis do only low mileage these days, and in that case it may not matter very much.

Thanks Tiger, will add it to the ever growing list!

The cam sprocket is almost new in comparison which makes me wonder about this kit's history. I'm replacing the chain as a matter of course anyway.

IWIS chain is the one to get, got the swiftune duplex on both of mine, top bit of kit.
