Made a thread a while ago about low oil pressure, finally got around to putting a gauge on it and it's making 13psi  :o engine rebuild it is.
As it's coming out i have decided upon (along with all the necessary parts to go with a rebuild etc) a Kent Cams MD274 and a Minisport Stage 3 head.
This is where the questions come, I have a lot more experience with carb(s) (as does the father) and we are both new to injection on a mini. If i installed the above parts is there anything I need to do with the ECU or will it just work? Then is it also worth spending even more of my student loan and getting a new ECU that can be tuned, something like this maybe http://twinkam.co.uk...Products/SC0127

A few pointers in the right direction would be lovely.
Cheers.

The cam and head work will make a very noticeable difference to performance. The ECU will self learn, but it would be advisable to have the adaptive parameters reset with a service/ diagnostic tool, It is also worth having  all the sensors checked and the engine 'tuned' again with the service/ diagnostic tool first and then take it for a decent drive afterwards to allow those adaptive parameters re learn under the correct 'tune' conditions. You don't have to, it will learn on its own after a while but it may learn on a system that is out of 'tune'.

You need to consider other aspects other than the head and cam. The exhaust manifold is an important part as is the type of induction to the overall end result. I will only ever recommend Maniflow and K&N simply because they do what they say on the tin. Steer clear of foam filters and anything to do with what you linked to unless you want to see your student loan shrink in size, suffer from anxiety, frustration and depression.

Thank you very much Sprocket, summed up what i wanted to know in a few sentences.
I currently have a K&N filter on top and a Maniflow LCB to single box (debating cat delete because it's only £20) installed to her at the moment, so that's all good.
