I'm sure that I'm missing something really simple, but can't see what...

I need to remove the clutch pedal on my Marcos. I've undone the nut on the end of the pedal shaft, but it only moves a millimetre or so to the left even when tapped with a hammer. I've tried prising the other end (with the egg-shaped part on the end to stop the shaft rotating) but it won't budge.

Pedal springs are removed, still not going anywhere. Do I need to remove the clevis pins (Haynes manual says to do that after removing the shaft)? Doesn't seem as though it would make any difference. Is there some kind of retaining clip that I can't see which is holding it in place, or is it just stuck?

Possibly the pin is worn enough to have a lip at the pedals? that would stop it moving, have a good jiggle on the pedals as you try to remove shaft? I've never tried to remove the pin while still in car

Thanks minimans, I'll give that a go over the weekend. If the pin is worn that badly I'll need to order another one...

Really don't want to take the pedal box out of the car just to change one of the pedals!

Put nut back on most of the way and welly it.

They can get well stuck in place. Once the "egg" is free rotate it 180 which can make things easier to move.

Got there in the end. After trying it weekend before last and only getting the pin halfway out before it would refuse to go any further (despite mole grips on the "egg" end and liberal application of PlusGas) I ordered a replacement pin from Minispares and gave it a break. Just tried it again now and the pin slid out almost straightaway! Clutch pedal replaced and clutch action a lot better as the hole for the clevis pin was really worn on the old pedal.
