Manifold Issue

Hi...i am dry fitting a minisport 3 branch manifold...the issue i have it sits extremely close to the fuel pump outlet and i mean close has anyone else had this? Also what was you remedy. I see that people fit a facet electrical pump maybe this is the fix....regards martin

I always thought the 3 branch manifolds (most of them) were too close for comfort to the fuel system

 

the crimped type of pump is fixed -

 

other type of pump is easy , it has the screws around the edge which means the outlet can be positioned where you want it (within reason)

 

I never like the way the mini fuel pipe routed near the exhaust on the standard mini's anyway , all my mini's had the pipe turned around 
 

& they were routed up over inlet manifold near the rocker cover , to cross the engine bay , much cooler

 

 

 

EDIT - there is a way of turning the crimped valve body on the crimped type pump , but it is too risky to put on here & can damage the pump / leak

 

even if done correctly , so not worth the risk , unless you have a spare pump

Many fuel pumps are supplied incorrectly configured.

Take the top off and rotate it to a better angle away from the exhaust.
