I recently changed a faulty brake light switch on my mk2 mini cooper but on getting ready for my mot i have found it

to be faulty again,i have checked to see if the switch is faulty by connecting the two wires together but the brake lights do not come on? can anyone suggest what the problem might be ?

Cheers Andy

Check the bullet connectors in the boot. Do the tail lights and indicators work normally? That would rule out an earth problem.

There is a fuse in the stop light circuit but it also protects other things. Does anything else not work?

Check the supply to the switch with either a volt meter or a spare bulb and wire.

Thank you to all who replied to my problem with my brake lights, it was eventually found to be a wire off behind the speedo!

Cheers all.
