Hello

I am fitting an 1995 SPi engine into my 1981 Mini.

I removed the flywheel and clutch assembly to fit straight cut drop gears. The flywheel was welded to the crank and after months trying to remove I ended up cutting it off.

I am now looking for a new flywheel. After having a quick look I can see there are normal Verto flywheels and SPi/MPi specific flywheels which are much more expensive. I assume this is due to the engine management system which I will not be using as the engine is converted to run a carb.

I just wanted to check to see if a normal Verto flywheel would fit the engine. http://www.med-engin...-light-flywheel

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks, Matt

yes it will be fine.

but if you had to cut the flywheel off I wonder what condition your crank is in.
