Just had roll cage fitted (front and rear without diagonal brace) and looking to mount extinguisher on perhaps the side bar (by rear window).
Easy I though, just search on here or google for roll cage mounted extinguishers but I can seem to find an obvious solution. Has anyone on here done, if so how or should I opt for a different place....

Yep, poor place to mount on as it is hard to get to when needed.

clip on mounts tend to come loose in a crash. drilling a cage is not clever.

this is why motorsports extinguishers are bolted down and plumbed in. hand helds tend to be at the front on the seats on the floor so you can get them when needed.

If you're going with hand held, just put it somewhere that's within your reach from your seat.  Definitely not on the rear arch cage leg.

I'd have it in front of the driver's seat, personally.

There's not really a suitable place on a cage, though.

Mine is mounted vertically, using 2 cable ties on the front cage on the passenger side sitting on the floor....

Easy to get to, and easy to remove when needed too because of the quick release on it...

I used to have it in front of the passenger seat, screwed to the crossmember, but anyone being passenger used to kick it and end up having rolling about on the floor....

Thanks guys, yes on vertical part of cage in passenger footwell seems like a good idea....next question which one......?! Massive price range it seems, I just want one for general road safety use, not doing any motorsport with it!
