Anyone had any experience using quick racks on your mini? Is it worth doing on a fast road car?
Cheers

Not a big difference between normal and quick, feels a bit quicker and heavier, personally i prefer a standard rack over the quick one.

I fitted one to my mini last year, there was nothing wrong with the old one, I just fancied trying a quick rack.
I had some doubts before fitting it as some people on forums said it made the steering too heavy or the rack was 'too quick' and made the car difficult to keep in a straight line on the motorway.
I fitted the minispares quickrack, steering did initially feel considerably heavier than previously but I think some of that was just new rack 'stiffness', I rarely notice the extra steering weight anymore now the rack has bedded in, only really when the quaife atb diff is pulling you through a corner when giving it some stick.
The steering is noticeably more direct, it's no problem on a motorway and seems to be a bit easier to control 'weave' when accelerating hard or when the tyres hook up on joints/lines in the road, I'm on 165/70/10's & 5" rims.
12" & 13 " wheels might be a different matter.

It depends on what you're wanting it for and what wheel size tyre combo you have. The existing rack is very quick and direct enough when compared to a modern car. When I needed to change mine I went to a quick rack (13 inch wheels 175x50x13 tyres). It doesn't need it and the steering is unnecessarily heavy. if I were to do it again on a road car with 13 inch wheels, I wouldn't fit a quick rack.
