Hello - I have a mostly original '65 countryman that was ordered left hand drive out of factory. My shift lever snapped, but I can't find the part that matches it. I understand normally part number 22A269 would work here, but that part doesn't match. I suspect it may be an old aftermarket part. Any help replacing this simple thing? You can see the part and where it broke in the attached photo. It is currently held in with a pin.

that will be an aftermarket kit not a genuine part but a part of a period accessory.

That looks like an SPQR Shifter which was an after market accessory of the era.

I really doubt you'd find one, though you might get lucky.

Can that one be welded back together?

Could easily be welded or brazed back together

Hello - it does - I have to take a look tomorrow to be sure - is that something you would be selling? or just a photo you found?

I'm going to look into the welding... what would be involved if I had to replace the whole mechanism, or go back to original..?

to go back to original you would just need a magic wand gear stick, and then learn where your gears might be, no i dont have either.
