Hello, this is my first forum post.

I currently on my 6th year of a nut and bolt restoration of a 1991 Studio 2 mini, which I started when I was 15.

Project is nearly at completion.

I have come to a problem when refitting the passenger side door window regulator. The original window channels present when I tried to refit the regulator were rusted, which resulted in the regulator becoming jammed. Upon removal of regulator (which took quite a bit of force) one of the arms where bent and the two cogs appeared out of sync when compared to the undamaged driver side regulator.

I have replaced the window channels and rubbers with new ones, but any idea on how to repair the window regulator?

Here are a few pics to help show what I'm trying to explain

I've not had one in bits so I wouldn't know how they're held together, though the bent arm is clearly a separate stamping to the toothed sector. If the studs are peined over, like rivets, you could grind them down and use a dab of weld to hold them in  for reassembly.

You could also source some bits of scrap plate to pack out the corresponding intended gaps on the good winder. Then use them to make a sandwich around the bent arm so you can press it flat(tish) with a vice, clamps or summet very heavy. Think you'd be lucky though, if it's stretched it'll probably need some cutting and welding back up.

Or you could look out for a replacement  O_O

( Yet more design genius how the little "cog" is stamped out of the bit cog and both use all the same components, only becoming L & R handed by assembly.)
