Help!
Sorry to repeat a post but I have read all tips from previous posts to try shift the stubborn little roll pin through the gear selector shaft. It won't budge- I've got the special punch from minispares...which I've hit hard enough to bend it!
I've soaked it in all sorts. The collar moves slightly so it's stuck in the gear selector shaft.
Am I missing something?
It's the pin closest to the diff I'm supposed to be removing isn't it?
I'm wanting the engine out of my clubman....I've only got this and a rusted engine tiebar to free and I can remove it.
Thanks in advance

ive used old dill bits and allen keys to punch mine out, no real excess force either, although saying that was in there tight enough. Upload a picture? Only other thing is to tape a bit of plasic round it and fill it up with WD40 so its having a submerged soak

Thanks for the reply.....I'll try the submerged soak tonight.
I've had to leave it for today, so frustrating when something so small stalls progress!
Is the gear selector shaft steel? Is it likely to be rust that's fused it in?
The car was a barn find so I've come across a fair few rusted bolts & Clevis pins but they've always taken less work to free than this tiny pin!
For the amount of force I've hit it with compared to the surface area of the pin that's potentially rusted, it really should be out by now!
I'll put a pic up tomorrow if tonight's soak doesn't work.

For the really difficult pins I use the tool from this company https://minipreservation.co.uk/ it's the one halfway down on the right hand side. Works every time, just make sure you put it in reverse before you try.

Those work great. A little expensive but definitely worth it on stuck pins

Only thing I'd add on the use of that tool is that the pin needs to be completely flush with the collar. If it's sticking out even a tiny amount, its difficult to get the tool engaged to do it's job. Good bit of kit though.

Great stuff.....not sure it'll work as the pin is slightly to one side. I can move the collar the small amount of space it has each side though.
I might invest in one anyway, I've got to get the Clevis pin out of the clutch arm when the engines out....I presume that tool will make it loads easier!
Thanks for all the input....will update Tomorrow

That not a problem, you'll be able to level the roll pin with a pair of adjustable grips.

The pesky roll pin finally came loose! Seems the submerged soak worked...there was a few sweary seconds when the bent minispares punch got stuck in the hole after the roll pin dropped out but at last it's free!
Thanks for all your suggestions...now to get this engine out!
