Guy (and girls!)
I've a unique chance in the near future when my shell returns from Cradley Heathen, I will have the car almost complete bar the outer sill being in place. Primary reason being I will have opportunity to protect the car in one of it's weakest rust points. The car will go back on the spit and I have an initial plan but wanted to put it through the experts on the forum as to whether or not I'm going OTT or not doing enough!
- On the metal surface - remove as much of the E-coating/paint the from the heritage panels to locate any possible rust lines.
- Bilt hamber Electrox brush/spray liberally the entire sill cavity, forcing it into seams with compressed air, include the underside of the outer sill.
- Tiger seal all seams.
- Epoxy mastic 2k over the top of the lot.
- Drill the outer sill for plug welding, grind back areas on the car and well up. Grind welds back, Electrox, seam seal and epoxy mastic 2k entire floor.
- 3M underseal, prime, top coat.
