I've not used that one, but have used gas soldering irons in my last job. Comes in very hand when you need to do on the job repairs. As long as you have a good selection of tips they are good because you can use them to solder and heat, heat shrink too etc.

Not that particular  one! but used similar regularly in my last job with a large construction 

company, I fitted trackers in to all sorts of vehicles and plant and always hard wired them

where that could not be found so where soldered into wiring looms.

That kit looks pretty good with a heat deflector for heat shrinking, I usually hate going shopping with the missus but the tool section at Aldi tends to ease the pain.

Used a gas soldering iron a lot when my dash came out, nice bit of kit.

gas irons are good as they tend to heat up faster then the elec jobbies. Use to use them all of the time in my old job fitting bike comms
