As above can you chrome plate a standard roll cage?

I theory yes but finding a company that would actually want to do it might be tricky.

That plating process wouldn't be any different from a big American bumper but the polishing would be an arse of a job.

Because a roll cage/hoop needs to be padded for safety, there would seem to be little point in anything other than painting it. If you don't fit padding then a crash-helmet, at very least, should be worn when driving the car, but even then proper padding with the correct material is really important.

It's only a rear cage. But I didn't take the safety aspect into
Consideration though

Your head will be very close to the tube which goes up just behind the seat side and across the top. Presumably you are wanting a roll-cage because you are concerned about what happens if you crash. In which case be even more worried about what happens when your un-protected head hits the un-padded tube.

Also near-in-mind that with a roll-cage it is really necessary to use full harness belts which then makes your Mini a 2-seater. Anyway, it is virtually impossible to get a rear seat passenger in among the tubes.

A better answer is to drive a classic car gently, in relative terms, and simply enjoy the 1960's retro driving experience  :D .
