So I ordered a few parts from MiniSpares last month one was FAM7821 a Brake limiter valve.

Waited for the order to arrive everything was there except this valve. (the main part I needed)

No problem, so I phoned them up to ask where the valve was and when it would be with me.
I was told that due to a manufacturer fault they couldn't get hold of the valves. I therefore cancelled the order of the valve as they didn't know when it'd be available.

No problem I ordered one from another company.

Until this morning when the postman comes with a package from MiniSpares the valve that I'd cancelled a month ago

So I'm now £91.98 for an item I'd cancelled (or so I'd thought) that I no longer want or need

Yes I can return it but it's unnecessary hassle that I didn't need right now.

And a wait for my money.

speak to simon@minispares on here

they are usually good on orders

& it's good they found the fault & stopped delivery , even thou it was eventually sent in error

(ps I don't work for them , but do prefer to use them)

Good Afternoon

I have just looked up the original order and you selected that we send what we have and backordered the out of stock item. We don't have any e-mail messages cancelling that back order. No problem in returning it though, and we will give you a full refund including any postage costs to return. If this is our mistake, then I apologise

Simon

Hi Simon,

yes I did select back order at checkout because there was limited stock

But after it didn't arrive in the order I phoned to cancel the back order

Until today I thought it had been cancelled.

I appreciate the response

Thanks

Simon, whilst you're here, any news on the panel i ordered 3 months ago? I've rung BMC and they are willing to speak to you about it, but not me as it's your order.

Mistakes get made fact of life......but in all honesty this is what you feel having to rant about???? Been a minispares client since the early 90's, have to say they have been instrumental in being able to retore my cooper s and keep it running....Have sent countless faxes over from Holland to Friern Barnet Road (or so I seem to rememberthe address was spelled) and they came through then....as they do now.

I'm sure for some people having £90 go from there bank account probably isn't a big deal but for someone like me just starting out in life it's more of a big deal than you might think.

For a big company like MiniSpares to take money from my account after I'd expressly told them over the phone that I wanted to cancel my order is a big deal for me.

Guess if you can afford a cooper s you're probably not in the same situation as me

So I'd also ask you to think before you reply to topics you know nothing about.

Perhaps when you've finished starting out on life and actually lived some more of it, you'll realise that mistakes happen. That's why cars have bumpers and pencils have rubbers.

Ranting will only raise your blood pressure and shorten your life. We're not here for long enough anyway - I suggest a winding in of your neck and a less of an attitude towards others who have wronged you by mistake, public floggings are very medieval and unnecessary

And never judge others on your perception of their wealth based on their belongings, most got there by being good at something - one day you may need their help.

I'll also ask you to think before you post such judgmental nonsense

You are obviously upset the money has gone from your account and I genuinely understand that but as you get older you'll realise you don't have to insult people to get you point over; if you mature you'll be able to do it with reasoned argument. It will certainly help you in a business environment. You will also realise not all companies offer the level of customer service Minispares offer. It would appear Simon has offered without question to give you a full refund without having any written evidence from you, simply your word you made a phone call without any written confirmation from you, believe it when I say this does not happen with all businesses.

If you are so smart, why are you not a TMF+ member? The £5 cost of membership entitles you to among other things, 7.5% discount from Minispares and the single purchase you've made would have more than paid for itself, equally as important, it also supports the very forum you use for your ranting and no doubt at some time in the past and hopefully in the future advice from fellow members?

It does not cost anything to be courteous, a well reasoned argument is a more effective way of getting your point over and generating respect from your peers than an immature insult.

+1

couldn't have put it better my self

having a mini cooper doesn't indicate wealth - in fact , it can indicate a total lack of wealth , (usually due to the mini cooper)

Not sure where I insulted anyone? But if I did then I apologise

Great way to treat a younger member of the Mini community!

No wonder forums like this one are very quickly becoming an outdated concept

Luckily for me there are many sources of information and suppliers out there.

That's the last I'll be saying on the topic as it was resolved before anyone else needed to get involved.
