Personally I don't like turbochargers. By the time the engine has been totally rebuilt to lower the compression and maximise reliability, the turbocharger bought and fitted and the gearbox checked to ensure it will handle the increased torque and power, you could easily spend £2500 or more.
After that you would still have an old classic car.
