I have recently purchased a 1275 GT year 79 and I'm trying to make it as original as my limited ability will allow.

The problem I am having it trying to find pictures/ info or what was the standard fittings etc .

The chap I bought it off said the original seat were the silver stripe ones and the car is Pageant Blue

If anybody has any knowledge it would be greatly appreciated

I would imagine the seat material was the blue/grey & black stripe deckchair pattern and the door cards should be black, the GT door cards had a little bit of extra material at the bottom of the door card as a door pocket along the full width of the door card and was secured with black press studs, the door cards I would expect to be black leatherette material to match the black carpet and dash trim.

.... the original seat were the silver stripe ones....

1978/79 & 1979/80 Brochures lists beige stripe seats & beige trim for Pageant Blue GT

As above the seat pattern would be the same as this on but colours would have been Blue and Greys

Thanks for the help folk!

The info that itsaminithing put shows that it should be beige interior but i can't visualise it compared to the grey stripe....now I'm stuck in my head to go for what the brochure says or the grey stripe as the previous owner believed it should be.

Pageant Blue with beige or grey.....

I know NOTHING about the 1275GT so apologies to everyone if this isn't 100% correct.

You've got a Pageant Blue GT with Silver Stripe interior!    -couple of thoughts come to mind....

Is it a Clubman someones made to look like a GT? Easy to tell, i think by 1979 the Vin should start XE2D2 ...... (& some time in '79 they started stamping the Vin number in the bonnet gutter).

Found an article that says a 1979 Vin plate should give you the original paint colour & trim codes

-paint listed as JNA. No idea on the trim codes, hopefully other GT owners can supply the silver & beige codes.

Even IF it did originally have a Beige stripe interior what's so wrong with having the wrong colour seats? At least they're contemporary & lets face it you won't be fitting the original run-flat tyres. It's a MIni not a museum static display -maintain it, love it, & above all use it.

Yeah it checks out that it's a GT so happy with that, think me trying to get to original looks is due to falling in love with the GT when I was 16 and for God knows why I have taken till my being 41 to actually buy my first mini...slow ass I know

As you say I'm actually coming to terms as I do little bits to it that it isn't going to be fully original so I don't need to be so anal about this and enjoy something I have waited so long for

Plus I'm still learning as I go along so people like you helping me is greatly appreciated!
