Lo,

well i have been amassing parts for El Gordo now for a bit. mostly random bits like wheel cylinders. Shoes springs variouse bits and bobs but i've always wanted sta 1 echaust bits. Rather than spends 100 odd squid on one i used the power of ebay.

cost so far:
1 x Manifold (came with a carb) £15
1 x Freeflow manifold £2.50 (so pleased with that!)
1 x Maniflow RC40 back box £10 (well £20 with P&P)
1 x K&N cone filter (proper one not a cheap remake) £30-45 (can't rember)

i got to say thats bloody good going so far ;D oh and thanks to Summergnu for finding the back box. cheers man!

so happy , few more bits and bobs and i'm done!

magi pipe? is that the thing to connect a big bore exhaust to the regular cast manifold? if so then why do i need it when i have a cooperfree flow manifold and an alloy inlet manifold.

but yeah few extra pennys left. link pipe is £5-15 odd squid (£5 cheap one and £15 for a shaped one) then a mounting kit which is a few bits and bobs again. then pretty much sorted. have to make a bracket from the exhaust manifold as theres a clip to hold it to the bottom of the gearbox which it didn't come with but i plan to make one so thats eaily sorted.

just need to get my hand on those few bits and a bit of 5mm thick alu and i'm sorted.

yea the freeflow manifold is a diffent size to the link pipe you will prob be using, thts y i went LCB on mine, as it wouldhave cost me an extra £15-£30 on the magi pipe. dont hold me to that! thats what sommerford where quoting me because aparently the LCB was gonna hang too low! ha!
yea right, my sump is still lower!

also may i ask what ur using the 5mm think alu for? a heat sheild for ur rear valance mabie?

ah gotcha.

as for the 5mm alu, i want to make an offset for the cone filter. it just snags on the bottom of the dashpot lip. they way i've botled mine on is i took the old 90*degree bit (that connects the carb to the airbox) cut that into a plate and used it sandwitch the gasget to get a good seal. problem is the screw on the back of the filter bashes the dashpot so i wanted to make an offset plate to make life simpler.

just one of those things i want to do and working with alu is a nice plesent exsprience.
