I may be completely missing something here, but it is straight forward install...but the bolts supplied by MED came with washer and lock washer and nut.  I am not sure if I should thread the bolts into the carb body - but when I do this, the bolts do not fit.  The bolt size/threads are too big, but I know I can drill out/enlarge the mounting holes on the carb body and therefor use the washers and nuts - but surely this should not be done.  Am I missing something here?

In the pics below, I am simply test fitting the bolts first and you cannot get them more than .25" turn until the threads start to fowl.

These are 1.25" HS2 carbs with AUC 1341 and AUC 1342 marked on carb bodies.  Pretty standard set up.

I've got the MED/ITG stub stacks and filter setup on twin HS4's, they're a lovely piece of kit but a complete pain in the backside to fit with the supplied nut, bolt and washer arrangement.
My carbs were already drilled out from a previous set up so I initially used the MED fitting kit but trying to get the nuts and washers on with the filter back plate was enough to try the patience of a saint.
I made my own interference fit tube nuts for the carb bodies and longer bolts, drilled to take R clips to secure the bolts in case they come loose - don't want loose bolts getting sucked down the carbs!
Can now remove and refit the filter back plate and stub stacks with ease.

Thanks man - why doesn't MED put some kind of basic instructions that says "To this this bloody thing, you may need to drill out your carb body with 5/16" bit and be a saint for no loosing your nuts"....or at least something like that!  Crazy.

If you have one, run a 5/16 unc tap through the holes, a whitworth thread of that size is the same pitch ( threads per inch ) but is cut at a different angle 55 degrees v 60 degrees.

If you search the forum you'll find my unhappy experience with their filters.
