The 'e2' marking represents the European country that certified the glass. I know it is not the UK as it would be e11. Don't know what the rest is sorry, possibly relevant standard tested to.

Yes...I'd read the French connection before posting. However, how do you DATE the Windows. I know the 1.. Has some significance, but what does the 982 stand for????

Why (if you'd forgive my asking) would you want to date a window? :/
Tyres I can understand as rubber deteriorates as it gets older but windows?

if you want ones of the correct year for the build. or just to see if they are original.

or if they are all 1985 in a 1961 car.......

what is the year of the car as that will reduce the searching.

I would say the windows are original, and the car IS a 1992. I'm trying to tie down its exact age....Alternator says, 20/92,
Distributor 04/92, Boot Latch 21/92, Wiper Motor 06/92.
It has the earlier external bonnet latch, early AC location and Controls, and rear opening quarters, as fitted to earlier Spi Minis.
First registered on 1st September 1992.

This was brilliantly covered by the leading expert on the Mini Cooper, John Parnell, in the August 2011 edition of CooperWorld.

Sicursiv was the registered trade mark of the Italian company Societa Italiana Vetro Siv S.P.A., who supplied glass for Minis from 1970 to 2000.

Around 1990 they adopted a dot system for dating.

The number of dots indicate the month. 12 dots means January and 1 dot is December. The single digit is the year, which for even numbered years would follow the dots and for odd numbered years would precede the dots.

1.. is therefore November 1991.

Minidizzy, Finally, someone has answered my question. Many thanks. The glass is slightly older than I thought, as all the electrical components are dated April to June 1992. This just confirms the age of the car. Jim
