Hi I'm a little confused I've painted Bilt Hamber Electrox on the external floor which has gone on fine,my worry is I did the same on a piece of steel then tested some Upol Gravitex on the top. The Upol seemed to break down the galv paint slightly.
Should I seal first with two pack paint then apply the Gravitex ?

Did you leave the Electrox 96 hours before overcoating?

 

It mentions that in the separate instruction sheet before applying 'high solvency top coats'.

 

I've applied Gravitex after waiting for that amount of time without problem.

Yeah gravitex has so much solvent it reacts with loads unless bone dry

Hi gents, admittedly not for 96 hours probably 36 but this was on the test piece I've not touched the floor until I'm happy so I will test again.

I had problems with gravitex over zinc primer exact same even after leaving for a few weeks, only way to get it to go on effectively is to do lighter coats, if you try to get full coverage in one heavy coat it's pretty certain it will react or soften underlying coats. It will also soften brush on seam sealer.

V thin coats with gravitex with loads of drying time between. It's a pain but worth it I think

I use Electrox over metal, then epoxy mastic then the Gravitex. Had no issues.
