Hi Everyone
Looking for a shell dolly as provided with a heritage shell, I have seen them previously but wondered if anyone has one sat in their garage not being used that I can fit a set of wheels to and roll my restored shell around the garage as I rebuild it.
I'm specifically looking for one of the carry dollies as used for transporting the new shells because it can be picked up safely by a forklift truck and the whole shell is supported and very secure! I've gone down the pallet route previously and now need something that will hold the shell in position especially with the shell now being newly painted inside and out. Is there no one on here who has brought a heritage shell recently
Thanks

Would a pallet with heavy duty castors not do?

That's what I'm looking at doing.

Look on eBay, pallets for sale costing pennies. Some even deliver for a small fee.

Mine is on a pallet with big castors.

I'm looking at building a frame out of steel box for work which will locate in the subframe mounts

Furniture dolly picked up from a local hardware store. Its a little small but properly balanced it can do if you need one cheap and right away

I saw a couple of pallets in a garden so I asked the owner of the house if I could have them. The lady was glad to get rid. A tenner for a set of castors from Screwfix and jobs a guddun

I use a bread trolley with some timber screwed to it that lines up with the pads under sills, works very well, although a wooden pallet would be just as good.

Pallets are handy lil things, be sure to get Euro pallets though with their rounded corners, usually painted all over and have stamped edges - they dont come apart as easily as the plain old yellow wood ones
Weve got a set of 4/5 pallets in the garden weve made into two wood stores for the log burner, each has a Euro pallet on the bottom and theres no warping / rotting going on yet in 5 yrs!
