as i'm old fashioned, i have drums all round on henry. and i was wondering if those superfin alloy drums can be fitted to the front to increase brake efficiency as it seems a bit silly just to have them for the back as MiniSport suggets!!!

cheers

i dont think the spacing would be a problem as the standard system didnt have spacers the only reason they were put on the back is so when minis were fitted with disks at fron was to bring it back in line..so if u have fins all around will be all parrallal(or as parralal as a mini is)
it might be an idea to hcnage to disk set up at the front...nothing special just some good 2nd hand set ups get set can be the same as genuine mini fins

superfins wont increase braking power, it only helps for heat dissipation hence brakes wont fade as fast as normal drums

or am i talking rubbish? :-

thats right..same as servo doesnt increase pressure or performance only reduces drivers effort
brake fade can still occur in disk set up its just harder due to it not being inclosed in 1 area

Doesn't it save you a bit of spinning weight to? (I'm building a track car).

Super Minifins will be a bit lighter than drums but an expensive way to shed a few ounces. Their main purpose is to reduce fade which is the main issue with drums: they have a much large friction area, that's also got more leverage than a disc pad and a self servoing action, so creating the heat will be easy.

You can put Super Minifins on either end of the car, but they will need new studs on a "drums all round" Mini for the built in spacers. There used to be an unspacered version "Minifins"
