Hi,
I have recently put my engine and subframe back in the car after renewing the gaskets, mounts and cv joints.
The car refuses to start, it just turns over.
Strange thing is tho that after trying to start it the brake pipe (the bit with the join in it for dropping the subframe) gets red hot and smokes!!
Iam hoping that someone on here may know whats gone wrong.
Many thanks
Adam

is your engine properly earthed?

have you fitted the engine earth strap? If not the engine will be using the brake pipe as the earth strap, which is likley to cause a fire

The earth strap goes from the same mounts as the stay is this correct.?
Its there but a little frayed! Would this cause the car to not start??

Also make sure your main battery cable isn't shorting out on the brake line, but its more likely to be incorrectly fitted/damaged engine earth.
