I was advice to fashion a heat shield to go round the little fuel resivour above the manifold to stop fuel evaporation occurring , i fashioned one out of a exhaust heat shield but it is off course flimsy and can some times ratte is there a company anywhere that actually make one specifically for this job. ?? Of course this is not a standard item that came on the car the person who advised this to me was a old boy who works on minis his whole life and sets up the mini stock cars and mini race cars years ago.
Thanks in advance

You don't need it on a standard road car, I have 2 HS4 carb'd minis and these both start and run very well, do you have a fuel issue?

If you've got a HIF carb then there's a small heat shield built into the abutment plate - well that's what I always thought it was.
