hi all,

i have a 1995 mini cooper 1.3i

the passanger side brake light and reverse light doesnt seem to work.

it happened after water got into the light as the gasket had corroded and it blew the bulb. ive since replaced the bulb. Now the rear lights both work its just the reverse light and the brake light on the passanger side that doesnt seem to want to work.

ive checked the 24 way fuse box located under the bonnet on the drivers side and all fuses seem to be in tact.

anybody got any other ideas?

cheers

Hi,

Has the wiring in the lamp unit corroded and associated bulb holder / springs / contacts internally on the lamp unit. Additionally, check the connector from the lamp unit onto the rear loom

Hi,

Thank you for the reply,

It was down to the springs in the bulb holder, they had corroded, sprayed some WD40 on them and now they’re working fine.
