
Epoxy Or Oil Filled Ignition Coil?

Ive not used that dizzy, but have used the TDC123 dizzy which was also programmable, the TDC could work with either the balast or non balast coil so 1.5 or 3 ohm. you just had to check the car was balast or non balast.
on balast cars the coil is i.5 ohm and fed from a pink wire that has built in resisitance. to be honest the wire can be troublesom and personally I would eliminate it and run the 3 ohm coil.

cant say i have come across any epoxy ones. the main thing it to make sure the one you get is the correct one for your ignition system. as there are three possibilities for the OE set ups.

I will be using a 59D CSI dizzy with 8es ngk spark plugs. Engine is a 1340.
Just be sure your coil of choice has a resistance of 2.5 ohms or more.

I have an ancient GT40 coil on my car and it works fine (electronic ignition) It's been on at least 3 of my cars that I remember and is possibly 30 plus years old. They are still available.

No. It's so you don't burn out your CSI Distributor!

From recollection the tdc123 could cope with more, but the coil would eventually give up, but that was using std ballast coils.
Also I seem to remember having the resistive wire and a standard coil and the damn thing wouldn't idle, and ran rough, so presumably not enough spark.
Generally the ballasted system gives somthing near 9volts at the coil feed when running
