998 Bore Liners

Ive been and got a second engine to strip and rebore and build back up to drop in my car. The problem is that the bores are fairly well damaged but having got it all to bits it had got liners in the bores. Does anyone know how far this can be bored or even if it can be bored at all. Its not a major issue if its scrap as Ill just use the engine thats in the car (assuming thats not linerd too). But if I can use this and get it built up as a short engine then thats favourable.
I am taking it to a machine shop later in the week but just thought Id ask the collective wisdom on here.
Cheers

see what the machine shop say, but I don't see any reason why it can't be re bored. It was probably sleeved to take it back to standard bore size after being bored right out.

You can normally go to +0.020" with a linered 998 block. Beyond that you need to have new sleeves fitted to take it back to 998.

Yes factory did liner blocks, as a re work to repair issues that arose during production. +0.020" is possible if the original liners are not loose.
