11/16 Nut For Track Rod End Ball Joint?

Hi All

 

i can not seem to find a locking nut for my track rod end. the one i do have seems to be 11/16 but place like mini spares don't seem to stock them. 5/8 nut they recommended is not he same thread. any clue what nut this is?

that will be the spanner size?

 

it is 3/8 unf

 

part number FNZ208 is given but not sure.

sadly don't have a spare wheel nut but even why i try to put on it douse not want to go. if i get a spanner on it 11/16. this is the nut that goes on the ball joint sorry if i made any confusion.

Do you mean the lock-nut on the steering track rod which locks the track-rod end in place and holds the tracking setting or the nut which locates the swivel hub ball joints top & bottom?

as the wheel nut dosent fit I'm guessing its the nut that goes on the joint where it goes through the steering arm, in which case it can vary depending on the part manufacturer, and also it needs t be a nylock.

 

measure the diameter of the thread, it may be a metric thread,  M10

From Nick's diagram, the original nuts were 3/8" UNF. Some of the later replacements I've had (and these seem to be mostly the 'extended' types) are M10 fine thread.

hi guy thanks it in indeed no.5 it might be an m10 as it looks like it fit nicely in a 17mm sockit!

It's worth pointing out that there is only about 0.1mm difference between 11/16 and 17mm,
