Hi,
I am currently restoring a Mk1 1963 barn find, and would like you to keep the bonnet which is rusted in the corner. To repair I need to remove the bracing, but am not sure how it is held in and what the best approach is ? It would be a shame to have to go for a new bonnet, any help appreciated.
Cheers,
Mick

Its spot welded at the front and the rear, and you may find there is also sealant holding it down as well.

Although it's a different bonnet it's basically the same set up for a clubman bonnet. Several spots at the rear and sides then for the front under the lip. Quite a bit of sealant as well and bare paint. Good quality control from the factory.
