Just about to refit the gearbox to block, wondering whether I should trim around the gasket where the o ring on gbox seats. Looks like it could be straddling the gasket and block face, risk of not sealing properly?

I don't but I do make sure either it is completely straddled or not. If it's only partly so, then there's a step from the gasket and with the comparative hardness of the O Ring, it will leak Air for sure.

I always trim them now, the hole in the gasket isnt as big as they were originally

Mine was straddling the o-ring when I built mine up, so I trimmed it up too. I had 2 gaskets from 2 sets and both were the same..

yes trim as its meant to touch ally face not paper
