Hi,
I have been given a hs6 carb which I would like to use instead of my hif44 (I would prefer the hif44 but due to regs I can't use it) the hs6 is the easiest swap as I can use my existing manifold and filter etc.
However the carb is a right hand (as you look at the engine bay) so the float is on the right and the throttle choke arrangement on the left, is there a way to use this and route the cables by modifying an abutment plate?
Any help appreciated so that I don't have to buy a hs carb, I have a set of hs4's but need an inlet manifold and set of filter etc for them, so if I can use this carb it would be handy for the interim

No clue on the HS6 although I seem to remember abutment plates with the cable connections on the other side. Maybe for a turbo carb?
If it helps, I can loan you a manifold & filters.

Graeme that's very generous of you if I need to I'll drop you a pm, I have another hif44 abutment plate so will see if I can fabricate something using that if not I may take you up on the offer.

You should be able to buy an abutment plate

I've checked minispares and can't find one that has the choke and throttle attachments on the left hand side of the engine bay as you look at it. And as the hs6 was never standard fitment on the mini most seem to have the float and linkages the opposite way round to what a hs4 would run.
