I've not been able to find a post with up to date links. Has anyone fitted LED back lights to their mini? Or at least just the bulbs so i can keep my existing light cluster and len's its a 1989 mini 30.

I have done this on a few cars, however, just check your local rules as it may not be legal, or you might have to use a particular LED.

A quick word of warning if I may,

Be careful fitting led brake light bulbs.
It seems like a good idea but it all depends on the quality of the bulb,

I had some years ago for a series landrover which were a vast improvement over the standard bulb. So when I got my mini I thought I would do the same,

Got identical or so it seemed bulbs from a different seller as couldn't find the old one.
Upon fitting thought great nice and bright until you press the brakes and the difference between sidelight output and brake light was slight,
Unless you were directly behind and low down in line the bulb you could barely tell the brake lights were operating. Not good. And worse than standard bulb.

They were removed and binned.

There may be good ones out there but I decided to stick with standard stuff

The lamps I bought I can't find now (typical for this kinda stuff) but I got them locally in any case.

I'd suggest you try Chris at Spiyda (no connection to me !!)

Anybody know if you can swap Mk2 rear light clusters with Mk3 the ones with the reversing lights built in or is the body panel a different size?

After giving the 24 led variety a try and finding they were utterly useless (the same as above), I've been tempted to give this type a go.

They fit straight in but you'll almost certainly have a sunken line around where the old one was even on mint cars that haven't been resprayed.
