Hi guys basically I bought myself a 95 Rover mini spi last year. It came with a K&N cone filter fitted when I bought it.
I am finding the car really noisy and im trying to figure out a way to quieted down. Now I realise minis are noisy cars and theres no such thing as a silent mini but even if I could lower the noise a little bit that would be excellent.
So the question is; how much quieter is a stock SPi air filter compared to the aftermarket K&N cone filter.
Thanks in advance

Much quieter it will certainly help. Induction noise off an open cone does my head in

I bought a '96 with a K&N and swapped it for the standard filter housing ,much quieter . You can get a K&N element for the standard air box but I just use paper elements.

Our old spi used to run with a ramair kit - gave a very bearable noise but not too obtrusive - they seem to be still be available - ours had blue / black "sponge" but I think it's still the same kit....:
