I was reading either a mini magazine or miniworld magazine a while ago and saw a Mini which I think was yellow with a green roof that ran twin SU carburettors and the owners had used a dsn classics engine steady on the radiator end of the engine. Now I have looked at the dsn classics website so many times and they don't make the steady to suit twin SUs.
Now I have misplaced my copy of that magazine.
Does anyone know how much work it would take to make one fit. I have a 1970 Mini with a 1098 and twin HS2s.

cant see why the small bore one would not be suitable for twin carbs. maybe they are just being careful.

If you have the original gearbox you don't need a Radiator end engine steady as it uses the remote shifter housing for this.

I don't know either unless the left hand carburettor interferes with the mounting point somehow.
mounting point is the LHD pedal box area the exhaust is closer.

I would email them and ask them if it will fit.

Moke spider I have a rod change gearbox so I'm looking at more stability for the engine unlike the remote gearbox. Northernpower I'll shoot them off an email if no one here can help. I was just thinking that the builder of the other mini may have moved the bracket on the right hand side of the firewall towards the outside of the car to get more clearance.
I have one of their steadies and wanted it modifying. You'll find they're real helpful. I would not hesitate to email them.

Are you talking about the engine steady that holds the radiator thermostat housing? or underneath from the engine to the subframe?

If it's going to interfere with the carbs it's going to be the upper one.
