Hi,
New here but not to minis.
I have a 97 Mpi with starting issues.
Has fuel, spark and compression but wont run.
Any ideas or ideally anyone have a code reader, happy to pay for your time.

How do you know you have fuel and spark?

If it has fuel and spark it will run.

Your problem is that you don't have one or the other.

It lacks fuel then. When and how did this problem begin, suddenly or gradually? Have you tried resetting the inertia cut off switch? Is the fuel pump running and is the fuel pressure ~3bar?

One question though, have you changed the clutch?

Or disturbed the crank sensor on the housing next to the flywheel. Unplug, clean up contacts and replay.
Although code reader will be quicker.
As Sprocket as asked above, when was the change? It was working, then what happened....

Head gasket went on it recently, replaced and all run fine for 100 miles or so, then suddenly wont run, no clutch replacement or touched crank sensor, replaced temp sensor same time as head gasket but has run since replacement.
