Hi all,

I have a 1997 Mini MPI Cooper Sportspack with the full leather interior as per factory-fitted. Having researched the colour of it it seems to be called stone beige. Looking to carry out some restoration to it and just wondering if anyone knows whether it is gloss, satin, matt, semi-gloss or semi-matt as I choose the right kit for it? Would certainly not say it's gloss but not sure of the rest.

Thanks

I love the leather and cloth design of my seats... I would love to find a way to restore them to look new. The leather has a few small tears and the cloth is a bit faded and just a little worn. I'll try to get pics up, but are the seats you are talking about all leather or are we discussing the same seats?

I've been talking to the chap at JCS custom trim about various options for my car, and while some of his customised stuff is amazing, I'm sure I've seen some standard/original refurbs on there. So perhaps he could help point you in the right direction for materials if it's something you want to do yourself.

Jon did my seats. Did an amazing job! He showed me the sad reality of the standard seat covers.

Ah, very good. I had been talking to him about MX5 seats (like in his own car) and a few other options. But I think the ribbed/GT style SPI or MPI seats he does are great, especially for my retro build. Just waiting to see how many pennies I have left over after bodywork and engine work....  the standard balmoral type seats might have to do me for a while.
