The MCR’s National Mini day at Beaulieu 2018
The MCR’s National Mini day at Beaulieu 2018 will see unparalleled glitz, glamour and luxury with a large display of coach built minis, Coopers and S’s; featuring the likes of Hooper, Radford, and Wood and Picket amongst others.
Many of these companies were more at home with the likes of Rolls Royces and Bentleys, but when your famous customer asks for their mini to be converted, who were they to argue? Expect to see all the things on a mini that were ground breaking in the 60s and 70s, that we now take for granted on a modern car. Hatchbacks, electric windows, full leather etc; and all at a substantial cost at the time.
Many of these cars were previously owned by the rich and famous and some have been meticulously restored to their original glory.
As usual the arena will see a separate display of unusual cars. Titled “Plastic Fantastic” this year is the turn of the fibreglass mini based cars. This will include examples from the 60s and 70s with the likes of Marcos, Gtm and others that are not so well known.
As usual the concours will share space in the arena. Last year was exceptional in the number and quality of cars entered. Our judges had a hard time finding the best, but eventually the winners of the prestigious trophies were found. It is advisable to enter early to ensure that you receive a place.
As usual Beaulieu will host an unrivalled gathering of ex works and competition cars along with many of the personalities from the heyday of the mini.
The date for your diary is the 10th of June and the venue is The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu in Hampshire.
All minis are welcome.
The ticket line is now open as is the trade booking facility.
