Quick musing.

Is there an known alternative to car carpets,

Presently im bare metal painted in three coats of hammerite because i hate the stink of car carpets, especially in a mini where its prone to damp.

My last carpet had milk spilled on it and it was rank.

I had a thought about using a liquid rubber which would set and coat the metal with  wipe clean surface - im not entirely sure such a product even exists.

Has anyone got any experience of any products that are tried and tested as alternatives to carpet and underlay?

Also im thinking in terms of rust proofing the floor a bit.

Truck bed liner.
Although fixing the moisture problem would be better in terms of rust prevention.

We used a very similar product like this on the noses of aircraft drop tanks and slat leading edges on Sepecat Jaguars in the RAF. Flowed very well on flat surfaces but was a sod on curves especially compound curves.

Hard wearing especially on Mach 1 + capable aircraft.

I've used Devcon products to repair the damage to Marine heat exchanger water box coatings. Belzona do similar products.

Bed liner is the better option i think, I'm not sure how easy it is to get done in the UK, but Mythbusters love the stuff!!

Does anyone still do Vinyl floor covers for Minis, like they first had back in the 60's?

I recall someone was remaking them.

I'm painting mine in Tintable Raptor. My aim is to cut down a bit of resonance and give a bullet proof covering (my floor has picked up a few scratches from getting a stone under the carpet)
