Ethylene glycol based 'freeze will be original spec. OAT (pink stuff) can be bad, especially with copper radiators held together with solder. The worst you can do is mix the two.

An alternative is central heating inhibitor, lots of iron, copper and solder in domestic heating.

Changed mini today along with a water pump.
I got a 5 litre for £12 from Andrew page motor factors. Half the price of Halfords.

As an FYI - I did some research on this not long ago to match Unipart Superplus 3 coolant. With the MPi engines requiring 'ethylene glycol based anti-freeze, containing no methanol with non-phosphate corrosion inhibitors suitable for use in mixed metal engines', I found that Comma's Super Coldmaster was the best http://www.commaoil....oducts/view/300

Also Comma's G48 just as good http://www.commaoil....oducts/view/563

Personally I use halfords coolant because it's got Bitrex in it(Bitrex makes the product extremely unpalatable) plus my Wigan halfords has decent amount of stuff n advice when I needed it.

When it comes to other stuff that I'm ok to wait for I've got stuff from carparts4less.co.uk paid £1.21 for a crossland oil filter, £2.50? ish for my air filter with the march discount code
