Engine: 1275A+

276 deg cam

10.5:1 compression

Copper Freeflow manifold

Weber DCOE 40 (I believe it is fitted with 24mm venturis. There are not stamps on the venturi, but the carb has stamped "40DCOE24")

Currently it is fitted with 130main jets, F8 emulsion tubes. Idle is 50F8.

Will this be good enough for starting it up and running in the cam, or do I need to change emultion, jets and idle ?

the DCOE number reefers to the arrangement of the mixture passages in the body, not the venture sizes. Just easure the venturis.

Ahh so 40DCOE24 does not mean 24 venturis. :) How can I then find out what size they are? Normally the size is stamped on them - but there are stamps on them.

mm I would not run a 40 but on a 45 I would have a 34 IIRC will have a check later.

Jetting looks a tad lean.
make sure you're running 4.5 aux venturis, choke size I'd go for 34
140 mains,55(F9) idles 50 pumps and 180 airs is where I'd start. Mini's like F16 emulsion tubes.

Appreciated!

I found out it has 32 venturis and 4.5 aux venturis. pumps and airs - what are those?

I'm trying to gauge what it has ben used on previously - could it have been used on a slightly tuned 998?

i dont think it will kill the engine but it will be lean and you will have just about everything changed.

so maybe get it off and make sure the chokes and Aux Venturi out ok.

may never have been set up for a mini many were not they were often taken off scrap cars and thrown onto mini manifolds and offloaded at shows.

It has been used on a mini - I just do not know the specs of it as I forgot to ask about it. :/ I know they ran, they were filled with petrol when I got them. (Accelerator pumps were working nearly hit me in the eye as i opened the throttles on it. :)
