Hi
Blew my 99 Jap spec Rover mini engine up completely (Basically whole thing needs replacing).
This is a MPI block, but uses the Spi injection and 3.2 diff.
Buying a nos short mpi motor from mini-spares, but need to know a couple things:
* What camshaft would this be running (I need to replace the original). Spi or Mpi?
* Flywheel/clutch assume would be Spi (due to crank sensor)?
Thankyou for your help
Brenton

MPi block, therefore MPi camshaft. The Japanese ECU on the late models uses the MPi flywheel too.

Thankyou for the reply Steve.
Are you 100% certain on this?
(As I need to buy new parts and then assemble motor and put it in car, just don't want to do all that and then find out something is wrong)
Thankyou Brenton

wont you be using most of the existing parts?
the only thing that you really need to check is the camshaft.

had a conrod break and likely smashed up against the camshaft, so replacing to be on safe side.
Flywheel had to be cut off as had welded to crank and wouldn't budge.
Hence why they need replacing

I always find that Somerford's catalogue is more clear on parts for jap spi.
