Is the engine modified in any other way ?

Do you know what diff gearing you have ?

Are you prepared to put up with a slightly lumpy engine tick over ?

The 1st mod on any A series should be a cylinder head, a 12g295 works well on a std 998.

Standard combustion chambers, valve sizes and port throats are not the best

You won't see any significant gains until you replace the head.

Head Cam exhaust and inlet manifold you will have a good boost.

If the engine is completely standard I'd be spending my money on a decent (Minispares) stage one kit, that will give you the biggest power increase for the cost. You will see a gain from fitting a performance cam, but not a lot unless (as suggested above) you fit a better, or modify your cylinder head. 12G295 heads go for stupid money now & the stock 998 head can be worked to give decent results.

Phil.
