Hi all,

Steve @ SMC does most of his business on facebook or email so wouldn't get much publishing on the forums, however I feel he duly deserves a review.

I approached Steve after a recommendation from Chris Moss (he has the spitfire themed BRG cooper sports doing the rounds). He was happy to send me pics of previous work and in some detail too! I sent him a list of jobs that needed rectifying, parts that needed re-welding, areas of concern as well as stone chip before paint etc.

I dropped the car off to him in February for him to start the work and did a walk round the car and he was brutely honest with where the car needed work and potential rectification methods - panel beat or replace it with heritage.

He kept me up to date with emails showing progress pictures and if there was an area that needed more work. He was happy for me to have parts sent directly to him for fitting, including the headlining which he did a great job on!

Steve has a custom built mini chassis jig too. Its a work of art! So if you need a floor pan attaching to a boot floor, it will be straight! It saves hours and hours of work.

His prices are extremely good and he himself has admitted he should charge more! If you're considering small work all the way up to a full nut and bolt restoration, its worth giving him an email:

Always best to have a decent jig, seen too many so called mini “specialists” leaning shells on scrap stands to one side whilst replacing panels.
Even welding in panels whilst on a spit without major bracing ffs.
