I have a 1997 Mini Cooper in volcanic orange and it is fitted from the factory with a wooden dash.
I want to remove this as I am doing some welding on the car around that area and I dont want the mini catching fire.
Looked everywhere and I cant find a way to remove it, anyone got one of these or knows how they come out.
Thanks

I did mine during the strip. If I remember rightly there are three main brackets and you get to them by removing the air vents and duct at each side - that should give you access to be able to see a black flattened bracket that fastens with a nut to the base of the inner dash at each side. Then one more in the middle, which is accessed by removing the radio. After that it should pull out (obviously all your speedo and dial connections will then need disconnecting). That's all assuming mine was as original!
