@ evolone38
I know what you mean ... winter months are here!
Where I'm from in Quebec the snow comes early.
Can’t wait to get the mini reliable enough to daily in the summer tho.
By the way your mini is looking great!

Thanks! I have had some fun this summer with it, tribulations aside but I plan to keep it up and go for more in the future.

Winter update: Oregon has had a very mild winter and dry sunny days have been more frequent. I have not worked on it or driven it because of hand surgery but I did get a chance the other day for a light stroll.

The helmet pic is from my day of glory this last summer #memories.

Had CTS surgery done? I have very similar pictures of my hand... Takes a long time to recover fully.

I try to keep it quiet, the RC40 exhaust keeps it tame under 6k.....lol

Yes, I got cut open and ravaged... it has been 4 months now and I still cannot turn a wrench or grip stuff. Irritating since I ride bikes / motorcycles and build RC cars. i sure do hope it gets ALOT better.

I have been doing a little bit of testing. Seems something like this, drops the engine temps by about +20 F degrees without the fan and doing 9k instead of 6k.

Update.. Drove 40 miles in 45F degree weather, hit rev limiter alot and kept it rolling... temps never went above 190F and only to 208 when sitting in traffic with no fan needed. Usually I would be sitting at 220+ at 6k with fan. This lightweight, easy chain access intake panel definitely dropped +30 F off my usual.

Well the car has been driving so well it just had to cause me trouble...

The header is now getting Ceramic coated, no more header wrap, it just deteriorated so quickly. Now maybe it will stop frying CV boots all the time being coated and slightly modified for more clearance.

So after the blasting/welding session I had it fully Ceramic coated. A hammer was applied on an area that kept fouling my CV boots.

I replaced the ailing boot with a new setup to rebuild this one pictured.

Lost my stator late last year so while it was up on stands I did a stator replacement.

Also I did another change, tapped diff case and threaded for a 4AN fitting for a bigger vent tube that flows more, plus doesn't leak now. The original setup leaked a bit, drove me nuts!

What is the reason for the larger diff tube does it help also stop the leaks

Less internal case pressure and a better hose connection. The bottom case hose, facilitates easier draining and filling of diff case remotely, much cleaner and easier interactions with a little more fluid capacity.
