Hi all,

Some of you may know I'm having problems getting my MPI to run as it should.

I now have a cheap reader from china which does what it says on the box and connects to the MPI ECU.

It is saying that my MAP sensor is reading 74 kpa with ignition on and the engine off.

With the engine running it is still giving the same reading !!!

Engine off, ignition on, MAP plug removed, the reading drops to 17 kpa, plug back on and it goes up to 74 kpa, so it does read live data.

Engine off, ignition on, MAP removed from inlet manifold and me sucking on the MAP, the reading doesn't move.

Does this sound like a dead brand new MAP sensor from minispares ???

Any ideas anyone ?

Thanks.

Pete.

somthings definatly amiss,

atmospheric ( so with the engine off) should be 101.3 at sea level, so somthing around 100, tio get 74kpa, you'd need to be around 8000 ft above sea level,

Also on idle i'd expect 30kpa absolute minimum, and probably more like 40-50kpa
